Environmental Justice and Human Rights

We support indigenous leaders DSC00339bprotecting the Amazon and human rights. Together, we provide legal representation and focus national and international attention on their struggles for social and environmental justice.

Indigenous communities face powerful foes. National and multinational oil, gas and mining companies backed by permissive state policies exploit indigenous peoples resources and threaten their ancestral lands. During the last 40 years, industrial development companies have managed to operate with total impunity causing widespread contamination and damage to indigenous territories.

With our legal partners at the Program for the Defense of Indigenous Rights (PDDI), we help indigenous leaders negotiate with the state and challenge companies in order to bring justice, compensation and remediation.
